The Primax Chincha Baja – Corporación Uno facility recently unveiled will service local vehicles converted to natural gas with a clean, cost-efficient and reliable supply. The savings will be about 60% compared to 90 octane gasoline, said Peruvian Chamber for Natural Gas Vehicles (CPGNV).
It should be noted that the city of Chincha, located in the department of Ica, already has two CNG fueling stations, which are served with mobile pipeline system from Lima. However, by April of next year, they will also be connected to the gas pipeline.
Ica has a total of four CNG stations in operation and expects to supply them all with pipeline in 2015.
“Ica is the first decentralized region after Lima, where gas pipelines and distribution network have been already installed. Soon it will reach 35,000 users, in addition to businesses and industries,” said Juan Ortiz, official of the General Direction of Hydrocarbons of the Ministry of Energy and Mining, in a statement released last month.
