The automaker carried out a research during the past two years, which allowed a study on the use of hydro-methane, a new fuel made from the mixture of hydrogen and natural gas, and the design of an info-telematic system for controlling daily activities, which will certify the environmental impact reduction and increased efficiency of operations.
The new fleet of natural gas trucks will replace diesel vehicles operating in the city center and will fuel hydro-methane at a special plant set up by Dolomiti Energia. The project involved a total investment of €930,000: €538,547.41 were provided by the Ministry of Environment and the rest was funded by Dolomiti Energia.
