“The prices for natural gas as an automotive fuel continue to be particularly favourable. The converted gross sales price for natural gas corresponds to a price of around 70 cents per litre of Super,” said Olaf Rumberg, managing director of E.ON Gas Mobil, a subsidiary of E.ON Ruhrgas.
“The benefits of NGVs are obvious: motorists save money when they fill up their cars. And NGVs have been proved to be climate-friendly,” added the executive, who attended the opening of the Shell station at Lange Strasse 105 on August 19.
Currently, vehicles running on natural gas in Germany are more than 90,000. Nationwide the CNG refuelling network has now reached a figure of about 900 filling stations, which makes it the largest in Europe.
