The initiative is part of the “green route” project to be implemented in the Cibao and East regions, as published by Listín Diario. SGN has invested between 700,000 and 1 million dollars in the stations that will be inaugurated in November, December and January, while CNG fuelling points expected for the March-May period involve a projected investment of approximately USD 5 million.
According to Miguel Guerra Armenteros, CEO of SGN, interest in the use of natural gas for vehicles has grown significantly and a sample of this is that the number of conversion workshops in the city increased from two to 20. He also said there are many people who “rely on the conversion project” and that the Ministry of Industry and Commerce is giving more installation permits.
It is worth adding that the Dominican government is about to begin the ‘Bono-gas natural’ program, which will benefit those drivers who use the Bonogas card with financing from the Reserve Bank, stated the director of Non-Conventional Energy Salvador Rivas.
