The delivery will be made by CNG trucks and will be initially directed only to the vehicles market. Currently, Rio de Janeiro consumes approximately 2.251,5 m³/ per day of the gaseous fuel and has a distribution network of 513 stations.
In additional, the state is the first in Brazil regarding the number of vehicles converted and its fleet comprises 45% of the total national fleet of NGVs in the country. With the extension of the CNG distribution network for the mentioned cities, the number will certainly increase.
“The automotive segment is always our hidden card to entry into new markets, but in the future we also intend to attend industries and houses,” said the general manager of the company, Hugo Aguiar.
The cities of Angra dos Reis and Mangaratiba will be supplied from a gas compression station, which will be installed in the district of Santa Cruz, in Rio de Janeiro. Currently, the station is in the process of acquiring materials and location definition.
CEG supplies compressed natural gas to 34 cities in all the state of Rio de Janeiro.
